Kevin O’Toole wants to help New York City FC compete for trophies after signing a new contract with the club.
The 27-year-old has extended his deal with NYCFC until the end of the 2028-29 season, with an option for an extra year.
O’Toole was selected in the second round of the 2022 MLS SuperDraft and has gone on to make 111 appearances for NYCFC.
He became the 19th player to make a century of appearances for the club, while he has directly contributed to six goals (two goals, four assists).
The defender missed NYCFC’s final seven games before the World Cup break due to a groin injury, and is set to miss their upcoming clash against the Columbus Crew.
Nevertheless, O’Toole is determined to bring more success to NYCFC when he returns to the pitch.
“Signing another contract with New York City FC means a great deal to me,” O’Toole told the club website.
“The club has continued to put its trust in me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep representing New York City.
“My mentality has always been to put the team first, and I’ll continue doing everything I can to help this group compete for trophies.”

NYCFC are eighth in the Eastern Conference, two places and three points ahead of upcoming opponents Columbus.
The Crew defeated Atlanta United 2-0 before the World Cup break, snapping a four-game losing streak in MLS.
Columbus also recently drew 1-1 with relegated Premier League side Burnley in a friendly match.

Mohamed Farsi had the primary assist on both of the Crew’s goals in their last match before the break.
It was the 89th regular-season match of Farsi’s MLS career and his first time with multiple goal contributions in a single game.
New York City FC – Hannes Wolf
When NYCFC took on Columbus in May, Hannes Wolf scored all three goals for his first MLS hat-trick.
Wolf became the first Austrian player to have a hat-trick in MLS and was the sixth NYCFC player to tally three or more goals in a regular-season match.
